Rod Bagaslao, B.A., J.D.

Rod is a licenced lawyer for the Province of Ontario and Yukon Territory. He is an experienced law practitioner having practiced for 15 years in the Philippines before coming to Canada. He received his Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of San Jose-Recoletos, Cebu City, Philippines and his Bachelor of Arts in Economics (AB) from the University of San Carlos also in Cebu City. He is currently pursuing his Master of Laws (LlM) in Administrative Law and Business Law at York University-Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, Ontario.

He was called to the Bar and admitted to practice as a Barrister & Solicitor in the Province of Ontario in June 2021 and in the Yukon Territory in April 2022, following the accreditation of his foreign law degree from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada-National Committee on Accreditation and completion of the Ontario’s licensing process. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Canadian Bar Association.

Rod practiced law in St. Marys, Ontario doing Family Law, Wills and Estates and Real Estate Conveyancing before moving back to Whitehorse, Yukon. He also worked as an associate lawyer in a Toronto based law firm primarily practicing Family and Immigration Laws. Prior to that, he worked as a settlement counsellor for the Yukon Tourism and Education Council/Multicultural Centre of the Yukon (YTEC/MCY) assisting newly arrived immigrants in their various immigration needs in Whitehorse, Yukon.
